CASE 1:
Marketing & Brand Consulting:
HERITAGELIFE | Taiwan . Kyoto
Branding · Corporate Video · Website · Social Media · Cultural Experience Design
Make it stand out
We helped Heritage Life turn four renovated machiya properties into a cohesive cultural hospitality brand. Through branding, video production, website creation, social media strategy, and cultural experience design, the hotels became a destination for architecture lovers, art communities, and travelers seeking meaningful Kyoto experiences.
01. Background
Heritage Life is a Taiwanese architectural company dedicated to revitalizing historical spaces. In Kyoto, they transformed four 100+ year-old machiya townhouses into boutique hotels that blend traditional Kyoto craftsmanship with modern design.
While the properties were rich in history and aesthetics, the brand needed a stronger voice to communicate its philosophy and unique cultural experiences to global travelers.
02. Challenge
No unified brand identity — each hotel looked like an independent property without a shared vision.
Limited storytelling — the remarkable renovation and cultural value were not clearly communicated.
Weak digital presence — the website and social media lacked consistency and emotional appeal.
Cultural activities under-promoted — art exhibitions, pottery classes, and cooking events were happening but not leveraged as brand strengths.
High market competition — Kyoto’s boutique hotel market required a distinct differentiator.
03. Solution
Branding & Storytelling
We developed a cohesive brand narrative positioning Heritage Life as:
“A cultural hospitality brand where travelers experience Kyoto through architecture, art, and food.”
This unified all four hotels under one meaningful concept.
Corporate Video Production
Created a cinematic visual story highlighting:
The restoration of century-old machiya
The founder’s architectural vision
Artists, chefs, and cultural activities inside the hotels
The video became the centerpiece of their marketing.
Website Design & Content
We built a storytelling-driven website featuring:
The machiya renovation journey
Artist exhibitions and residency programs
Cooking workshops with Japanese, Taiwanese, and Italian chefs
Seasonal events using Kyoto’s local ingredients
Elegant property pages and booking integration
Social Media Strategy
We developed consistent content pillars:
Architecture & craftsmanship
Kyoto lifestyle & seasons
Art & pottery exhibitions
Cross-cultural cooking events
Guest experiences & behind-the-scenes stories
This elevated their online presence and brand voice.
Cultural Experience Design
We conceptualized signature experiences that brought locals and travelers together:
Artist exhibitions in the hotel spaces
Pottery workshops with Kyoto ceramic makers
Cooking classes curated by Japanese, Taiwanese, and Italian chefs
Cross-cultural food experiences held inside the restored machiya
These activities transformed the hotels into living cultural spaces, not just accommodations.
